De IJmuiden branch of Corus Research, Development & Technology started to work with the maintenance management system Ultimo Maintenance Management of Ultimo Software Solutions in 1999. This system was mainly purchased to make the maintenance activities in the organisation manageable. Subsequently, it was decided to also integrate the facility services into Ultimo. This resulted in an extension of Ultimo Maintenance Management to Ultimo Facility Management.

"We are very pleased with Ultimo Facility Management and we have not regretted this investment for one single moment. We experience that there are very many possibilities. Therefore I find it very interesting to have a look at other organisations that work with Ultimo. Recently, I paid a reference visit to a hospital and there I saw that instruments were entered into the system using barcode scanning. I think this is very interesting and I try to figure out whether we can make use of this as well," says Rooseboom de Vries.
